Changing Seasons

“Accept the seasons of your heart just as you have always accepted the seasons that

pass over your fields, and you will find serenity.”

It’s a deliciously fallish day outside {chilly and rainy}. Baby and I are keeping warm and snuggly inside the house today. I’m unpacking from our weekend of camping at Lake Owen… doing laundry, cleaning, a little baking, and uploading pictures from our trip. I’m hoping to fit in some home-cozying as well… bring out some Autumn wreaths, pinecones, pillows for the couch, etc.

The candles are lit, tea kettle is on, and George Winston is playing. I love to see the rain drops on the windows.  It was a good summer, but now I’m ready for fall. I’m so glad that God created seasons. It is resonating with the season that is changing in my soul, as well. Hard things, but good things. I’m quieting my heart before my Maker today and just letting Him speak. “Be still and know that I am God.” Yes, Lord, do Your work in me.

Ava’s sitting up now. She loves to sit and play with her toys {mostly she just throws them around. Ha!} She turned 6 months on the 3rd. Every milestone is so bittersweet for me. I simply love the age that she’s at, and I want to slow down the hand of time to enjoy things just a little bit longer. And yet, change is good. To see her growing, learning, laughing, experiencing life… that’s what it’s all about, and there is JOY in that as well.

I’ll be back with pictures of camping soon.

* Sorry I don’t have the sources to these pictures. I collect so many that I lose track. Cozy, don’t you think?
